Four Maple Leafs Named To All Conference Teams

Senior Luke Woodworth, Sophomore Daniel Martin, Sophomore Ryan Troyer, and Senior Nick Good were selected to the All MCC teams
HARTFORD CITY, Ind. – The Mid-Central College Conference released the 2009 All MCC Men’s Soccer Teams on Thursday and Goshen College was rewarded for its outstanding regular season as four players were recognized.
After helping the Maple Leafs rack up a 6-2 mark in MCC play, seniors Luke Woodworth and Nick Good and sophomores Daniel Martin and Ryan Troyer were all selected to the all conference teams.
Woodworth, Martin, and Troyer were all picked to the 14-player First Team All MCC, while Good was one of 10 members of the All MCC Second Team. It was the second-consecutive honor for Woodworth, while the other three Leafs are first-time selections.
Woodworth (Middlebury, Ind.) is part of a patented Maple Leaf passing game as a central midfielder. He finished the regular season with two goals and five assists, with every assists and one goal coming during Goshen’s eight-match conference season. His five assists during MCC play tied him for the most in the conference.
A sophomore forward, Martin (Salem, Ore.), completed the regular season tied for the team lead with six goals. Four of his six tallies came during conference play – including a pair in a 3-1 win at Huntington – as he also added two assists to date.
As a sophomore between the pipes, Troyer (Fredericksburg, Ohio), allowed a conference low 0.96 goals per match. He made 68 saves, while posting four shutouts this season, including three during conference play. Troyer’s goal against average during MCC contests was a minuscule 0.70.
Good (Lititz, Pa.) is another crucial part of the Leafs passing game in the central midfield. He tallied a team-high 10 assists and ranks in the nations top 15 in the category. Five of those assists came in MCC play where he also registered three of his five goals on the season for a team-high 20 points.
Goshen starts the MCC Tournament on Saturday, October 31 as the No. 2 seed. They host No. 7 seed Spring Arbor at 7:00 p.m.
