FORT WAYNE, Ind. - In a 7-0 sweep of Saint Francis, the Goshen women's tennis team picked up their first win of the season on Saturday. Goshen's last win was September 11, 2020.

This was Goshen's first win over Saint Francis since 2009. The Leafs dominated every match - the Cougars didn't win more than three sets in any matchup. Sude Aytekin and Meaghan Godzisz only allowed one set win from their opponents in the single matchups, and the no. 1 doubles team of Aytekin and Szofia Kallai won 6-0.

The Maple Leafs nearly pulled out a second win for the day, but Bethel came out on top 4-3. Goshen won the team point 2-1 thanks to wins from Kallai and Aytekin at no. 1 doubles and Godzisz and Carmen Aliaga at no. 3 doubles. Aytekin won at no. 2 singles 6-4, 6-3 and Aliaga won at no. 3 singles 6-3, 6-0.

On Tuesday, September 13, the Leafs face (RV) Marian at 9:00 am and Grace at 1:00 pm in Indianapolis.
