MISHAWAKA, Ind. - The Goshen tennis teams suffered defeats to the Bethel Pilots on Wednesday in Mishawaka. The Bethel men won 5-2, and the women swept Goshen 7-0 to move to 5-1 overall this season.

Pedro Scattolon fought back to win in three hard-fought sets at #3 singles 6-4, 5-7, 7-6(10). Insee Akarapan also came out on top in a challenging match at #5 singles, winning 4-6, 6-1, 6-2. Scattolon and Matija Margetic nearly came through with a win at #2 doubles, but Bethel won the team point 3-0.

Blanka Bodo lost her first singles match of the year, falling to Julieta Gonzalez in straight sets. Bodo is now 5-1 in singles competition this season. Sude Aytekin and Carmen Aliaga lost a tight one in #2 doubles, as Kaavya Palani and Ariadni Korovla won 7-5.

Goshen hosts Saint Francis on Saturday, September 16, at 10:00 am. These matches were initially slated for 9:00 am but moved back an hour later. They are being played at the Goshen Jr. High School.
