GOSHEN, Ind. - Both Marian tennis teams moved to 5-2 this season with wins at Goshen on Thursday. Pedro Scattolon had wins in singles and doubles for the Leafs, but the Knights won on the men's side 5-2 and on the women's side 7-0.

The Marian women are ranked #23 and the men are receiving votes. With the win, the women have won five straight matches and outscored their opponents 33-2 in that span.

Scattolon came back to win after losing the second set in #3 singles 6-2, 2-6, 7-5. With teammate Matija Margetic, they won in #2 doubles, although Marian took the team point 2-1 by winning at #1 and #3 doubles. Filippo Gallo secured a point for the Leafs at #1 singles 6-2, 6-2.

Szofia Kallai gave a valiant effort at #2 singles for the women, but ultimately lost by a score of 6-4, 3-6, 6-10. Marian won the team point 3-0.

Both Goshen teams are now 3-4 in conference play. Goshen hosts Indiana Wesleyan on Saturday, September 23, at 10:00 am. Seniors Insee Akarapan and Meaghan Godzisz will be recognized at the conclusion of the matches.
