ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Goshen College bowling teams competed in the Leatherneck Classic over the weekend. The women placed 20th of 30 and the men finished 28th of 40 in the Tier II tournament.

Women - 20th of 30
Rebekah Muzyk was Goshen's top finisher, placing 46th of 241 bowlers. Her average score for Goshen's five regular games on Saturday was 181.4 pins. She had a 232 score in her fourth game, which is her highest among the 24 games she has played so far this season. Muzyk has played in all 24 regular games this year - Samantha Bean and Guliana Castiglione are tied for the second-most with 17 each.

Kami Kimes came in 92nd and Samantha Bean was in 121st, improving her season average from 167.5 to 169.7. Kelsey Badger placed 169th and Jessica Spidell came in 179th.

Men - 28th of 40
Parker Lovejoy averaged a score of 204.0 in Goshen's five regular games. He set a new Goshen game-high score with 266 pins in his second game, breaking the previous record of 257 by Brendan Riley. Lovejoy placed 63rd of 385 and boosted his season average from 175.3 to 182.5 pins per game.

Zachary Gage finished in 126th and averaged 185.2 pins over his five games, improving his season average to over 170. DaVeon Welch bowled all five games for Goshen with two over the 200 pin mark, coming in 150th overall. Brendan Riley was 230th and Blake Fisher rounded out the top five scorers in 292nd.

Goshen is at the Falcon Classic on Saturday, November 16, at 9:00 am in Sandusky, Ohio.
