SOUTHAVEN, Miss. - To start their spring schedule, the Goshen tennis teams faced three schools in the Memphis area over the weekend. The men lost to Bethel (Tennessee) 4-3, Christian Brothers 5-2, and beat Blue Mountain 5-2. The women lost to all three, each by a score of 6-1. The Blue Mountain women's team is ranked #25.

Matija Margetic was a part of doubles teams that won their point against each opponent. Insee Akarapan went 3-0 in singles. Blanka Bodo and Szofia Kallai had a 2-1 doubles record for the weekend, and Bodo was also 2-1 in singles.

Head coach Jon Bemisderfer was satisfied with the trip and some of the results. "We had the opportunity to implement some things we've been working on in practice and made positive strides," he said. "And we performed well for having to play outdoors with no outdoor prep time at home." He called out Szofia Kallai, who was injured in her last match but led 6-0, 2-0 when she went down."Overall, it was a wonderful bonding experience and very productive with lots of tennis in a short time." Bemisderfer's daughter Madelyn, who competed at Mississippi State and Indiana Wesleyan, helped assist the team and had great insights for their matches.
