                 MARION, Ind. - The Goshen men's tennis team defeated Indiana Wesleyan 5-2 on the road on Monday afternoon, as the GC women lost 1-6 to the #15 Wildcats. For the men, it was their largest margin of victory against IWU since at least 2006.
Men - Goshen 5, Indiana Wesleyan 2
Goshen secured wins at #1 and #3 doubles to win the team point. The four Goshen points from singles were all straight set victories. 
Filippo Gallo did so at #1 singles, 
Timo Novak at #3, 
Bruno Ferrera at #5 and 
Pedro Scattolon at #6. 
Timo Novak remains undefeated in singles competition this year with a 6-0 record.
Women - #15 Indiana Wesleyan 6, Goshen 1
Indiana Wesleyan won all three of the doubles matches before taking five of the six singles matches. Goshen's point came at #3 singles through the work of freshman 
Sara Nino. Nino won the first set 6-2 and then lost the second set by the same score. She rallied to win the third set by a decisive 6-1 score. Nino is 3-2 in singles matches this season.
Goshen is back in Marion for the ITA Regional Tournament later this week. The Leafs resume Crossroads League play at Huntington on Tuesday, September 24, at 4:00 pm.
