JACKSON, Mich. - Both Goshen bowling teams finished fifth out of eight at the third Crossroads League tournament of the season. This was the highest finish in a conference tournament for the men so far this season and it tied the best for the women.

Men - 5th of 8
Blake Fisher placed third of 59 for the men and was the highest placing JV bowler - making the junior varsity All-Tournament Team. The next highest JV competitor came in tenth place. Fisher's score of 250 in his second game is his season best among the 35 games he has played so far this season. His 250 score would have been the highest score of the day for four of the five bowlers that made the varsity All-Tournament Team. He boosted his season average from 167.8 pins per game to 172.5.

Parker Lovejoy was Goshen's top varsity finisher, coming in 15th. He was followed by Brendan Riley in 21st and Hayden Grindle in 22nd. Nik Bressert finished 26th and Andrew Jackson completed Goshen's varsity scoring with his 28th place finish. Grindle had a season best high game score of 228 and Jordan Sneed's 216 was a season best.

Goshen had placed behind Grace in the first two Crossroads League tournaments, but this time they placed ahead of them in addition to Mount Vernon Nazarene and Bethel. The Leafs were in fourth after the regular games and slipped a spot after the baker games. The GC JV team was third of five.

Women - 5th of 8
Rebekah Muzyk was Goshen's highest finisher among the women, coming in 8th of 62 competitors. She was just four pins away from making the varsity All-Tournament Team. Muzyk's individual total was 579 pins and she had two games with scores over 200. With the success, her season average is now at 179.9 pins per game.

Abigail Kenestrick had a strong outing as the top member of the JV team. She finished 24th, averaging a score of 171.0. Kami Kimes was the second varsity finisher behind Muzyk, coming in 32nd. Samantha Bean was next at 36th place, followed by Guliana Castiglione in 52nd and Bailey Friars in 54th.

In the second conference tournament, Goshen was 68 pins behind Mount Vernon Nazarene after beating the Cougars in the first tournament. This time the Maple Leafs finished 61 pins ahead of MVNU, and even farther ahead of Grace and Bethel. The Goshen JV team was third out of four.

Spring Arbor won on the men's side and Marian won for the women's. The top individual finisher for the men was Carson Kohler of Spring Arbor, who averaged a score of 236.3 per game. Spring Arbor's Kayla Tafanelli took the honor on the women's side, averaging 228.3 pins per game.
