GOSHEN, Ind. — Rebekah Muzyk, a sophomore on the women's bowling team, has been named the Everence Student-Athlete of the Week for December 1 - December 7!

Muzyk totaled 1,031 pins over the weekend between Crossroads League #1 and #2, averaging 171.83 pins per game. She helped Goshen to a fourth-place finish on Friday and a third-place finish on Saturday. 

On Saturday, Muzyk came in third overall out of 87 bowlers and made the all-tournament team. Her total of 562 pins was 12 away from the leader - Ella Steinke of Spring Arbor. Muzyk had a 187.3 average with an impressive 215 score in game two. She improved her season average after the weekend's results to a 165.2.

By coming in third as a team that day, the Leafs set a new record for the highest team finish they have had in a Crossroads League tournament.

The Everence Student-Athlete of the Week award recognizes outstanding performances by Goshen College student-athletes and is selected each week by the GC sports information office. It is sponsored by Everence, a faith-based financial services organization headquartered in Goshen.
