ELKHART, Ind. - In a historic day that not only saw Goshen hosting their first ever home bowling tournament but also the Crossroads League Championships on the same day, the Maple Leafs women came in fifth while the men finished seventh. The Marian men and Spring Arbor women won the regular season Crossroads League Championships at the event before the Knights swept the tournament championships.

Due to a scheduling conflict, it was announced earlier in the week that the Crossroads League Championship would be attached to the end of the Crossroads League #4 tournament hosted by Goshen in Elkhart. It was the first time Goshen has hosted a Crossroads League Championship event since outdoor track and field in 2015, and the Maple Leaf faithful came out in full force to support the purple and white in their historic home opener.

Women - 5th of 8
With an overall total of 4,081 pins, the Goshen women finished just five pins back of Indiana Wesleyan's 4,086 total. Lily Kelley was the top finisher, coming in 8th of 67 and earning a spot on the junior varsity all-tournament team. She has the third-highest scoring average on the team, averaging 169.7 pins per game. Abigail Kenestrick placed 21st and also made the JV all-tournament team.

Kami Kimes was the top varsity finisher, placing tenth overall and averaging 170.7 pins per game for the day. Guliana Castiglione was 18th, Jessica Spidell came in 25th, Rebekah Muzyk placed 30th and Bailey Friars was fifth among the varsity team at 55th overall.

Men - 7th of 8
The men came in seventh of the eight schools there, placing ahead of Bethel. Goshen had placed sixth in two prior Crossroads League tournaments this season and fifth at another.

Cameron Fedenis had the highest total for GC. His 567 pins over three games put him in 11th place out of 74 bowlers and he earned a spot on the JV all-tournament team for his performance. His average of 182.2 pins per game this season is third-best on the team.

The top varsity finisher for the Maple Leafs was Hayden Grindle in 24th place. He was closely followed by Brendan Riley in 26th. Nik Bressert was next in 32nd, then Blake Fisher in 38th and Andrew Jackson concluded the varsity team's scoring in 42nd place.

Goshen is at the Intercollegiate Singles/Team Sectionals on March 8 and 9.
