Scattolon and Ferrera come up with singles wins as tennis teams fall at UIndy

UIndy competes at the NCAA Division II level

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Goshen tennis teams competed at the UIndy Tennis Center against the NCAA Division II Greyhounds on Wednesday. UIndy won on the men's side 5-2 and with the women 7-0.

Men - UIndy 5, Goshen 2
The Maple Leafs lost all three doubles matches, but Filippo Gallo and Matija Margetic put up a tough fight in a 7-5 loss. Goshen's points came in straight set wins at #5 singles with Bruno Ferrera (6-2, 6-2) and at #6 singles with Pedro Scattolon (6-2, 6-1).

Scattolon now has a 12-6 singles record this season, tied for the team lead in singles wins with Timo Novak. Scattolon has won five straight singles matches and seven of the last eight. Bruno Ferrera has a 5-9 singles record this season. His win ended a six-match singles losing streak.

Women - UIndy 7, Goshen 0
The women lost the doubles point 3-0, with the closest contest coming at #2 doubles as Blanka Bodo and Szofia Kallai lost 6-3 in Kallai's season debut. Bodo and Dotsenko took at least three games in each of their singles sets, with Bodo losing 3-6, 4-6 and Dotsenko 3-6, 3-6.

Due to injury, this was Kallai's first appearance since April 5, 2024 when the women were at Grace. She had an 8-10 singles record and 9-9 doubles record last year, being named All-Crossroads League for the second straight year.

Goshen's home match against Judson for Thursday has been canceled. The Maple Leafs host Indiana Tech for Senior Day on Wednesday, April 16, at 3:00 pm.
