GOSHEN, Ind. - The 2024-25 Academic All-District® men's tennis teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, was announced on Tuesday, and Goshen had three student-athletes make the team. Filippo Gallo, Mario Gomez and Matija Margetic earned the recognition.

The awards recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in their sports and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Goshen was tied with Indiana Wesleyan for the most men's tennis student-athletes on the list with three each. Gallo, Gomez and Martinez were three of just 56 NAIA men's tennis players that made the team. There were nine in total from the Crossroads League.

The Academic All-America® award is the longest-running and most prestigious academic and athletic award for student-athletes, being given out yearly since 1952. The Academic All-District® award is given to student-athletes with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average that are sophomores athletically and academically. Individuals must have been nominated by their Sports Information Department and meet specific performance mininums for their sport. For tennis, they must be in the lineup for 70 percent of an institution's days of competition.
