Box Score CHICAGO HEIGHTS, Ill. - The 2025-26 Goshen tennis season got underway on Friday as the men competed at Prairie State, winning by a 7-0 score. Three of Goshen's six singles players were not on the team a year ago.

Goshen never gave up more than three games in any of the 15 sets they played between doubles and singles. Denis Stanculov and Timo Novak won 6-1 in #1 doubles, and that was the closest doubles match. Garrett Stoltzfus and Iago Cicui won 6-0 in #2 doubles and Bruno Ferrera and Paulo Lopez won by the same score at #3 doubles.

The Maple Leafs won all the singles matches in straight sets. Timo Novak didn't allow his opponent to win a single game in his 6-0, 6-0 result at #2 singles. Filippo Gallo, Paulo Lopez and Denis Stanculov only allowed one - all three had 6-1, 6-0 matches. Garrett Stoltzfus won at #4 singles 6-2, 6-0 and Iago Cicui won 6-1, 6-3 at #1 singles.

The Goshen women compete on Saturday at IU-Kokomo at 4:00 pm. The next competition for both teams is at Olivet Nazarene on Friday, September 19, at 1:00 pm EDT.
