GOSHEN, Ind. — Iago Ciucio, a freshman on the men's tennis team, has been named the Everence Student-Athlete of the Week for September 22 - September 28!
Ciucio made it all the way to the final of the main men's open singles bracket before losing to Ching Wah Wai 1-6, 6-7 (4-7). Cicui won in the round of 64 6-4, 6-1, in the round of 32 6-2, 6-1, in the round of 16 6-2, 3-6 [10-6], in the quarterfinals 7-6 (7-4), 0-6, [10-5] and in the semifinals 6-3, 6-3. Cicui has a 7-2 record in singles this season.
With Garrett Stoltzfus, he won twice in the doubles bracket. He had a combines 7-2 record between singles and doubles at the event. He has a 5-1 doubles record this season.
Way to go, Iago!
