GOSHEN, Ind. — Iago Ciucio, a sophomore on the men's tennis team, has been named the Everence Student-Athlete of the Week for October 5 -11!
Ciucio earned a spot at the ITA Cup, which was formerly known as Small College Nationals, making him the first Goshen College student to attend individual nationals since this tournament began. He earned the spot after his runner-up finish at the ITA Regional that was hosted right here at GC, when his at-large bid was accepted — this makes him one of just 16 men in the country who were selected to participate in the singles bracket!
He will begin the tournament on Thursday in Rome, Georgia, with a more detailed schedule still to come.
Way to go, Iago!
The Everence Student-Athlete of the Week award recognizes outstanding performances by Goshen College student-athletes and is selected each week by the GC sports information office. It is sponsored by Everence, a faith-based financial services organization headquartered in Goshen.
