ALLENDALE, Mich. - The Goshen men's track and field team sent a handful of competitors to run at the GVSU Big Meet - Friday. Both
Max Estep and
Bruno Kipsang beat the school record in the 600 meters, with Estep as the current record holder.
The previous record in the event was held by Ollie Smith, who ran it in a time of 1:23.20 in 2018. Kipsang had a time of 1:22.95 in heat four and Estep came in 1:21.95 in heat two. Estep finished seventh of 54 competitors in the event.
Leighton Dodt posted a time of 1:24.44, good for the seventh-fastest time in program history in that event indoors.
Drew Hogan had a time of 4:12.93 in the mile, his second-fastest indoor mile and the fourth-fastest in program history.
Duncan Kogei came in fifth of 21 in the 3,000 meters at 8:27.28 - his best indoor race in the event and fourth-best in school history.
Mathew Keitany finished 19th in 8:42.30.
Danial Murphy placed 11th of 39 in the 60 meters with a time of 6.95, just cracking the top ten times in program history in that event.
Goshen competes in GVSU Big Meet - Saturday, a completely separate event, on Saturday.
