Stan KingGOSHEN, Ind. - Goshen College and the Goshen College athletic department are pleased to welcome the general public to a ribbon-cutting dedication and celebration event for the new Stan King Tennis Complex on Thursday, April 2, at 3:30 pm.

Through the contributions of numerous donors, the Goshen College Tennis Complex received an upgrade - giving our student-athletes a true home court advantage, enhancing the fan experience and reflecting the pride and strength of Maple Leaf tennis. The new project, completed this past fall, features eight purple courts on the same footprint and at the same central campus location as the previous ones. The courts feature new bleachers on concrete pads at both ends of the complex. The venue also has a new foundation, support building, fencing and will feature a branded windscreen.

The site will now be named the Stan King Tennis Complex, in honor of the former player and 17-year head coach with the most wins in Maple Leaf tennis history. King was a 2017 Roman Gingerich Champion of Character Awardee. King still resides in Goshen and will be at the event among family and friends.

The ribbon-cutting and program will start at 3:30 pm on Thursday, April 2, with refreshments following at 4:15 pm. Attendees are welcome to enjoy an intersquad scrimmage played by the current Goshen College tennis teams at 4:30 pm. The Roman Gingerich Recreation-Fitness Center parking lot will be open, and in the event of rain, the event will be held inside the RFC. For those unable to attend, a livestream will be available at goshen.edu/livestream. Please call 574.535.7564 if you have any questions.

Both the men's and women's tennis teams are receiving votes in the most recent NAIA coaches' polls. The men defeated #15 Marian on the road recently - their first win against the Knights since 2008. The women also had a top-20 win earlier in the month when they took down #19 William Woods on the road in Missouri. Goshen's first home match on the new courts is on Saturday, April 4, against Spring Arbor at 1:00 pm.
