JACKSON, Mich. - The Crossroads League announced the tennis All-Crossroads League teams on Wednesday, and the Maple Leafs had four players earn spots on the women's team and two on the men's team.
Uliana Dotsenko,
Blanka Bodo,
Maria Clara Fonte,
Vishmi Serasinghe,
Garrett Stoltzfus and
Iago Ciucio earned the recognition. This is the third time that Bodo has received the honor and the second time for Dotsenko.
In a season where Goshen's depth has been shown in full force, it was displayed yet again as the Leafs were the only school in the conference to have four players make the women's All-Crossroads League team.
Uliana Dotsenko was 12-7 in doubles this season, primarily at the #2 position, and 12-13 in singles, typically at the #1 spot. Bodo was 18-7 in #1 doubles and 19-8 at #2 singles.
Maria Clara Fonte was 18-6 in #1 doubles and 17-8 in #3 singles.
Vishmi Serasinghe was 13-7 in #3 doubles and 17-5 at #4 singles.
The women advanced to the Crossroads League Championship and qualified for the NAIA National Championship in Mobile, Alabama. They will face Holy Cross College on May 12.
For the men,
Garrett Stoltzfus was 17-6 primarily at #1 doubles and 19-7 at #3 singles.
Iago Ciucio had a 17-6 record in #1 doubles as well and went 13-14 at #2 singles.
The men finished the season 12-9 overall and 7-2 in the Crossroads League regular season. They are currently ranked #24 in the NAIA coaches poll.
