35 Maple Leafs named NAIA Spring Sport Scholar-Athletes list

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Thirty-five Goshen College student-athletes have been named to the 2026 NAIA Spring Sport Scholar-Athlete list, announced by the NAIA on Wednesday. This honor recognizes student-athletes in each of the spring sports who have excelled academically.

To qualify as a Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athlete, students must maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, appear on the eligibility certificate for their sport, and have attended their institution for at least one full year. The Crossroads League had the third-most scholar-athletes on the list compared to all other NAIA conferences.

Here are the Goshen College student-athletes who earned this distinction:

Baseball: Aidan Calvey, Baylor Orcutt, Brandron Wright Barron, Dakota Perry, Joel Berkholz
Softball: Camryn Barrows, Ella Mcleod, Rachel Kates, Shay Pipher, Tanae Smith, Tatem Adams
Men's Volleyball: Alessandro Olgiati, Andrea Biffi, Ben Koop, Igor Sapucaia, Kendrick Acda, Matthew Dyck
Men's Track & Field: Anthony Roberts, David Carbajal, Eduardo Garcia, Jacob Friesen, Samuel Klopfenstein
Women's Track & Field: Bailee Brown, Caoimhe Farrell, Ella Armstrong, Leyna Borgmann, Marin Kauffman Smith
Men's Tennis: Denis Stanculov, Filippo Gallo, Timo Novak
