AT GOSHEN:
2014: Posted 11-1 singles record in first season at Goshen, including a perfect 3-0 mark at no. 5 ... was ahead in conference semifinal against Marian, the lone school to beat him in regular-season play, when match was called due to tournament policy ... finished the season on a nine-match winning streak ... earned two team points at no. 3 doubles with Taylor Ermoian and one with Balazs Pirot ... thirteen team points were tied for third-most on the squad.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Played for coach Mark Dahlsten at Hesston High School ... finished ninth in the 2010 state singles tournament, sixth in the 2011 state doubles tournament, and second in the team state tournament both years ... made the honor roll all four years
PERSONAL:
Born on July 25 ... parents are Gary and Louisa ... has a brother, John ... chose Goshen because GC "gave me a chance to reconnect with a smaller campus that seemed to have some of the community that I found lacking at a larger state school. I also had many connections to students through Hesston College transfers as well as Camp Friedenswald" ... admires his parents because "the college years are sometimes years where we as students want to distance ourselves from our parents a little bit, we want to think and make decisions on our own, and develop our own thoughts. But no matter how hard I try there are many things I have picked up from my parents that I would never want to go without. Whether it is spiritual, thought provoking questions, simply caring and cooking me a home cooked meal when I come home, or taking the time to hear how life is, my parents are definitely the most admirable people in my life. They give me the space to make my own decisions, yet are close enough to know when I need advice." ... little-known personal fact: "I've always had a fascination with the weather since being 7, and I love just about every season." ... best athletic moment was "winning tennis matches I had no business being in as well as watching our team excel in the Kansas state tennis tournaments my final two years of high school."
