AT GOSHEN:
2019: Split sophomore season between no. 4 and no. 5 singles, where he went 9-9, and no. 1 and no. 2 doubles, where he was 10-7 ... went 2-1 in tiebreakers and won a pair of third-set matches on the singles court ... 5-4 in the conference round robin ... advanced to round of 32 in Intercollegiate Tennis Association Midwest Regional singles tournament ... never won or lost more than two consecutive doubles matches ... had a three-match win streak and two other sets of back-to-back wins in doubles ... played nine matches with Martim Cafe and won five of them ... played with five different partners and won matches with all of them.
2018: Spent freshman season playing on no. 5 singles and no. 3 doubles courts ... went 11-5 in singles action and 12-5 in doubles for 23 total wins ... won 8 of his first 9 singles sets as part of an 11-match winning streak to open his career ... three separate 3-match win streaks in doubles ... went 8-1 in singles and 7-2 in doubles in conference regular-season competition.

HIGH SCHOOL:
Played for coach Jon Friesen at University High School ... four-year state qualifier and three-year all-state athlete … 2018 State Farm Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year … 2018 doubles and team tennis champion … also played soccer, winning 2016 Class A state title ... graduated as valedictorian … National Honor Society member … National Merit Commended Scholar.

PERSONAL:
Born on May 3 ... parents are Jon and Janelle Friesen ... sibling is Joelle (24) ... chose Goshen “because I found that it offered a strong combination of academics, tennis, a tightly-knit community, and the Mennonite values present.”
