PERSONAL:
Born on January 14 ... parents are Jen and Jeff Shenk ... brother to Aaron (17) and Jacob (13) ... chose Goshen “because I felt it would offer me the opportunity to stay grounded in my faith and provide a foundation of values from which to build upon. I felt that I would be challenged academically and spiritually, which was a rare combination in my college search. My parents are alumni as well, and I really appreciate the Mennonite values found at Goshen” ... admires Martin Luther King Jr. “for his ability to stand up for what was right peacefully and eloquently. His "Letter from a Birmingham Jail" is one of the most thought-out, sensitive, and compelling commentaries on race, political moderates, and faith. It's reminded me that being a bystander and moderate on race is taking the side of the oppressor” ... little-known personal fact is “I love crosswords -- I do the New York Times crossword every day and solve most of them.”
