Rustin Nyce has served as the head track and field coach since 2016.
A 2002 graduate of Goshen College and former Maple Leaf track and cross country runner, Nyce returns to his alma mater as head coach after spending three seasons as an assistant cross country and track coach at GC, sandwiched around six seasons (2008-13) as the head boys cross country coach at Fairfield High School.
In the 2021-22 season, Goshen sent eight student-athletes to nationals during the indoor season and four in the outdoor season. The women's indoor 4x800-meter relay team received All-American honors for finishing fifth at the meet, and Annika Fisher was an All-American in the mile in addition to being on the 4x800 team.
While at Fairfield, Nyce oversaw two teams that qualified for semistate and three individual regional qualifiers. During the regular season, his teams racked up the most dual-meet wins in Fairfield history. In his concurrent tenure as an assistant track coach specializing in distance, the Falcons broke five of their eight school records in distance events and seven 4x800 relay teams advanced to regionals.
Nyce is an avid runner himself, participating in races from 5K to 50 kilometers (31.1 miles), and holds Level 1 coaching certification from USA Track & Field. He and his wife, Kimberly, have four children:Â Roman, Gavin, Alden, and Isla.
