Career Times (Cross Country)

AT GOSHEN:

2020: Opened indoor season with a 9:24.17 in the Mastodon Opener 12/7 ... missed balance of season while studying abroad ... outdoor season canceled due to pandemic.

2019: Appeared in five indoor meets and four outdoor meets ... ran events between 800 and 5000 meters as well as the 4x400 relay ... debuted in mile 12/8 at Indiana Tech ... set best mile time 2/2 at Indiana Wesleyan ... shaved two seconds off 3000 time 2/16 at Hillsdale, finishing second in 8:55.03 ... made 5000 debut with a 16:02.65, which would stand as his best time of the season, 3/23 at Indiana Wesleyan ... finished 9th in 800 at Taylor on 4/6 ... posted career best 4:10.40 in 1500 at conference outdoor championship 5/3.

HIGH SCHOOL:
Ran for coach Kelly Richards at Inglemoor High School ... cross country state qualifier … team captain.

PERSONAL:
Born on September 11 ... parents are Morlin Elias and Juli VanPelt ... sibling is Craig (16) ... chose Goshen because “when I visited Goshen, I really appreciated how friendly and welcoming everyone was. Also it had all of the majors I was considering. The cross country and track coach, Rustin Nyce was really cool and I could tell he cared a lot about me and the team” ... best athletic moment was “running a PR at state my senior year.”
