AT GOSHEN:
2015: Played nine singles and 10 doubles matches, all at no. 1 ... first victory at no. 1 singles came 9/5 vs. St. Joseph's. 2014: Won 17 of 26 matches, most on the team ... finished the season with five straight wins at no. 2 singles and three in a row paired with Anika Baumgartner at no. 1 doubles. 2013: After missing first three team matches, finished the season strong at no. 2 singles, winning six in a row ... also picked up team points on doubles side in final two contests.
HIGH SCHOOL:
Played for Coach Rene Crespo… ranked #2 in the state of Pichincha between 2011 and May 2013… ranked as high as #13 overall in the country of Ecuador… won titles at the Carlos Carrera Tournament, St. Paul's Grammar School Sport Day, and the Diner's Club Tournament… honored as the National flag bearer in 2006-2007 for the St. Paul Grammar International School… top graduate in the school for her field of chemical biology… also participated in swimming and basketball.
PERSONAL:
Born on October 12… parents are Gloria Lucero Mafia and Edgar Salvador… chose Goshen "for its core values and for what the school reflected as a whole. And now that I am here, I love what everyday can bring, the ideals for justice and peace transmitted by it's teachers and student body through learning experiences that will change your life are just amazing to me."… admires her grandmother because "she is from Colombia, and traveled at a very young age as a refugee from violence. She raised eight kids by her own when my grandpa died in a natural disaster, all in a country were machismo is extremely dominant and raising kids by yourself is not 'accepted' but condemned. She's an extremely strong woman, her righteousness always walks in front if her, and her love for others is admirable in every sense"… little known personal fact is "I love nature at its pure expression."
