Chad Coleman

Chad Coleman

Coleman became the associate athletic director in May 2023, focusing on managing the athletics facilities, including budgets and operations. He oversaw the coaches' use of the facilities and collaborated with Goshen College operations to integrate athletics facilities into the overall campus plan and maintenance schedules. He served as interim director of athletics from September 12, 2024 through June 30, 2025.

"Chad knows Goshen College and its operations well and has already improved the processes and workflows in the Athletic Department," said Goshen College President Rebecca Stoltzfus. "He also has a deep passion for and commitment to Maple Leafs Athletics, and has continuously demonstrated that."

Coleman has held various roles for more than 20 years at Goshen College. He was the resident director from 2002 to 2011 before serving as the director of residence life from 2011 to 2016. From 2016 to 2023, he took on the director of campus safety and student life operations position. Coleman has also served as the intramural sports coordinator since 2011. In 2025, Coleman's work shifted to being entirely in the athletic department and not in campus safety.

Coleman grew up in the Goshen area and graduated from Northridge High School. He received his bachelor's degree in kinesiology at Indiana University Bloomington in 1996 and his master's degree in organizational leadership from Gonzaga University in 2009. He was the assistant director of group sales and promotions for the South Bend Silver Hawks in 1998 and was the athletic director at the Boys & Girls Club of Nappanee from 1999 to 2002.

Coleman has been married to his spouse Caren since 2008, and they have a daughter, Claire. He is a technology and warm weather enthusiast and enjoys binging quality TV shows, his favorite being Game of Thrones.
