Jesse Loewen

  • Title
    Student-Athlete Success Coach
Jesse Loewen graduated from Goshen College in 2017 with a degree in Social Work. He attended Bethany Christian for high school and was part of the phenomenal men's soccer team that went semi-state in back-to-back years. He was on the GC men's soccer team for three years, and was part of the team when GC men's soccer won its 500th match. His brother and cousin were also Goshen College men's soccer players.

Loewen is in his eighth year working at GC, with his current title as Associate Director of Academic Success, in addition to supplying direct support to men's soccer as a Student-Athlete Success Coach beginning in 2025. Much of his day involves helping students, problem-solving, collaborating, celebrating wins, and discovering areas of growth with students in their journey to graduate and beyond. His experience as a former GC student-athlete and his professional career helping all kinds of students allows him to meet students where they are and help them grow, develop a growth mindset, and understand themselves and who they want to become academically, athletically, and socially.

Loewen still enjoys using the campus weight room and developing relationships with students of all backgrounds, especially student-athletes. He enjoys attending concerts, biking, taking long walks after work, being with close friends, and helping others have better days.Â
