Continuing to make the transition from player to coach, Kraig Miller begins his second season on the Maple Leaf coaching staff in 2012. Along with Screeton and Childers, Miller is from the Fort Wayne area, having completed a standout baseball, basketball, and football career at Bellmont High School.
He immediately became an impact player at Goshen College where he was a four-year starter as an infielder and pitcher. While having the difficult defensive task of rotating from third base, shortstop, first base, and into the Maple Leafs pitching rotation as a senior, Miller posted the ninth best batting average (.423) in the MCC during conference play.
While tallying a team-high 64 hits, he came just one short of the program's single season record set by head coach Josh Keister in 2003. Miler also led the 2010 Goshen team in average (.379), at bats (169), and RBIs (35).
At the conclusion of his standout four years as a Maple Leaf, Miller ranks 1st in games played (179), 4th in RBIs (122), 6th in walks (78), 7th in hits (155), 8th in doubles (29), and 8th in home runs (13).
As part of the coaching staff, Miller will take on primary roles as hitting instructor and recruiting.
