HUNTINGTON, Ind. — Goshen College dropped a 9-0 women's tennis decision to Huntington University on the HU courts Wednesday.
Mags Dutchersmith, playing both singles and doubles for the first time in her collegiate career, picked up a team-high seven games in a loss at no. 6 singles.
The Foresters (7-2, 5-2) got a shutout across two matches from Lanea Singleton, who won without dropping a game at no. 4 singles and no. 2 doubles. Huntington's top two players, Meg Dolde and Morgan Fitzpatrick, lost one game apiece.
Goshen (2-5, 1-4) saw each of its players get on the scoreboard at some point despite dropping all three doubles matches. In terms of games won, the Maple Leafs turned in their best match against Huntington since 2014.
The Maple Leafs maintained eighth place in the Crossroads League standings as Saint Francis lost to Taylor and Bethel topped Mount Vernon Nazarene; the match between Marian and seventh-place Spring Arbor was postponed.
