GOSHEN, Ind. — Indiana Tech took a pair of victories from the Goshen College tennis teams Monday afternoon, sweeping the men and women by identical 9-0 scores at the Goshen College Tennis Complex.
Martim Cafe and Josh Friesen led Goshen's men, pushing four of their five combined sets past the scheduled distances of six or eight games for the victor. Cafe dropped a 7-5, 7-5 decision at no. 3 singles while Friesen fell 7-5, 6-4 at no. 4; they combined for a 9-7 defeat at no. 1 doubles.
All told, Goshen came within one break of serve in eight of the 14 completed sets.
The Tech women took all five contested singles matches in straight sets after posting 8-0 and 8-1 wins in doubles action. Hannah Behm added another full-length set in a 7-5, 6-2 loss at no. 2 singles.
The defeat concludes the spring season for Goshen's men, while the women will wrap up their slate Friday at 4 p.m. against Grace Christian University.
