MARION, Ind., and GOSHEN, Ind.— It was two down and one up over the weekend for the Goshen College men's tennis team over the weekend as the Maple Leafs dropped decisions to Holy Cross College and Spring Arbor University before bouncing back to shut out Mount Vernon Nazarene University on Saturday.

The Holy Cross match was played on Friday at Indiana Wesleyan University while the other two matches were part of a Crossroads League tri-match at GC on Saturday that brought each team to the midpoint of the conference season.

Insee Akarapan won four matches on Saturday for the Maple Leafs (2-4, 2-2). He knocked off each of a pair of Bentleys for Spring Arbor on Saturday morning, topping Brendan Bentley 6-3, 6-1 at no. 3 singles and pairing with Mario Gomez to edge Bret Bentley and Sebastian Smith 6-4 at no. 3 doubles. In the afternoon, he added two wins over Carter Jones with three 6-2 sets, the first in doubles and the latter two in singles.

Joseph Mounsithiraj and Brenton Pham made their GC debuts in the doubles portion against Mount Vernon Nazarene, playing at no. 2 and losing to Logan Gauthier and Danny Hare.

Both of Goshen's scheduled midweek matches, Monday against Trine and Thursday against Northwestern Ohio, have now been postponed due to conflicts at the opposing school. GC will return to action next Saturday at Grace, playing the host Lancers at 9:30 a.m. and Huntington at 1 p.m.
