GOSHEN, Ind. - Goshen men's volleyball lost to Georgetown College, the defending NAIA national champions, in three sets in their 2025 home opener on Friday night. The #4 Tigers won 25-16, 25-13, 25-16.

Goshen came out strong and trailed 15-17 in the first set when the Tigers ended the first on an 8-1 run. They continued the dominance through the next two sets, allowing Goshen to score just 13 points in the second and 16 in the third.

Georgetown had eight aces compared to Goshen's one. They had 12 more kills, seven more blocks, eight more assists and six more digs compared to the Leafs.

Ishmail Bangura had eight kills to lead Goshen and tied for the team lead with four digs. Ben Koop had six kills and Bruno Barac had five. Igor Sapucaia had nine assists over two sets with four digs. Avery Laforce had seven assists over the two sets he played and Jonathan Arias had four digs.

Goshen hosts Mount Vernon Nazarene on Saturday, February 8th for the second of four straight home matches. The game will start at 6:00 pm, or as soon as possible after the men's basketball game ends and the required one hour of warm up time is complete.
