GOSHEN, Ind. - Men's volleyball lost in three sets to Lourdes at home on Friday evening. The Gray Wolves won 25-18, 25-23, 25-14.
Lourdes started out of the gate with an impressive .500 hitting percentage in the first set with 17 kills and just two attack errors. They finished the match with a .418 hitting percentage - the second-highest by a Goshen opponent in a match this season. Goshen had an fair .203 hitting percentage but had 17 fewer kills than their opponent, 14 fewer assists and 11 fewer digs.
GC had a late fight in the second set when Lourdes led 24-21. The Gray Wolves had a service error and then
Sawyer Frystak recorded an ace before Lourdes won the next point on a kill to win 25-23.
Ben Koop had ten kills and a .400 hitting percentage, his highest clip since March 4 against Indiana Tech.
Ishmail Bangura, playing in his first game since March 8, had nine kills.
Avery Laforce led the team with 19 assists and six digs.
Andrea Biffi and Bangura had two block assists each.
Goshen hosts Siena Heights on Saturday, March 29, at 7:00 pm. The Leafs need a win against the Saints to keep their conference tournament hopes alive. The match had originally been scheduled for 3:00 pm.
