Two Goshen baseball players earn spots on CSC Academic All-District team

The team recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom

GOSHEN, Ind. - The 2024-25 Academic All-District® baseball teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, were announced on Tuesday, and Goshen had two student-athletes make the team. Joshua Rubio and Trent Sillett earned the recognition.

The awards recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in their sports and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes baseball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

The Academic All-America® award is the longest-running and most prestigious academic and athletic award for student-athletes, being given out yearly since 1952. The Academic All-District® award is given to student-athletes with at least a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average that are sophomores athletically and academically. Individuals must have been nominated by their Sports Information Department and meet specific performance mininums for their sport. For baseball, player are required to have competed in at least 90% of the team's games or started in at least 66% of them. Pitchers must have made at least 17 appearances or pitched 35 innings.
