Bowling competes at Kegel ISBPA Collegiate Classic, Riley cracks top 20

Men place 47th and women 32nd in a competitive weekend highlighted by Riley’s top-20 finish

ADDISON, Ill. - The Goshen bowling teams competed over the weekend at the Kegel ISBPA Collegiate Classic, a Tier I USBC tournament. The men came in 47th of 68 teams and the women placed 32nd of 55.

Men - 47th of 68
The men were in 28th place after the regular games and fell to 47th after the baker games on Sunday. Brendan Riley took 20th place out of 473 bowlers and averaged a score of 222.2 over five games for a total of 1,111 pins. He posted a high score of 256 and registering four games with a score of 212 and above. On Monday afternoon, he was announced as the Crossroads League Men's Bowler of the Week.

Riley was followed by Blake Fisher (239th, 774 pins, 193.5 average), Hayden Grindle (263rd, 714 pins, 178.5 average), Matthew Dominiano (296th, 595 pins, 198.3 average), Da'Veon Welch (318th, 545 pins, 181.7 average), Cameron Fedenis (370th, 391 pins, 195.5 average), Adam Snyder (372nd, 382 pins, 191 average) and Nik Bressert (392nd, 353 pins, 176.5 pins). Seven of the eight improved their season averages. Grindle had a new season high game score of 225.

Women - 32nd of 55
The women were in 39th place after Saturday's regular games and rose up to 32nd after the baker games the next day. Abigail Kenestrick placed 105th out of 366 bowlers and was Goshen's top finisher. She had an average score of 179 across five regular games, totaling 895 pins. She saved her best game for last, posting a score of 200 in the fifth and final game. 

Folowing Kenestrick was Rebekah Muzyk (143rd, 851 pins, 170.2 average), Lexie Strong (205th, 698 pins, 174.5 average), Guliana Castiglione (264th, 481 pins, 160.3 average), Kaylee McNab (272nd, 455 pins, 151.7 average), Bailey Friars (294th, 351 pins, 175.5 average), Kami Kimes (315th, 291 pins, 145.5 average) and Jessica Spidell (348th, 150 pins, 150.0 average). Five of the women improved their season averages.

Goshen is at Crossroads League #3 in Indianapolis on Saturday, January 24, at 9:00 am.
