Fedenis leads way at Intercollegiate Singles Sectionals, women to compete in Team Sectionals next

SMYRNA, Tenn. - Goshen men's and women's bowlers competed at the USBC Intercollegiate Singles Sectionals qualifier on Friday in Smyrna, Tennessee. The women will compete the next two days in the Team Sectionals.

Cameron Fedenis had an excellent performance, coming in 25th of 172. He totaled 1,250 pins over the six regular games, with four games over 200 and a new collegiate career high game of 245. Fedenis improved his season average from 174.9 to 180.8. He was 91 pins away from making the top five and qualifying for the ISC National Championships. Brendan Riley came in 119th (1108 pins), followed by Nik Bressert in 136th (1,077 pins), Blake Fisher in 140th (1,064 pins), Hayden Grindle in 149th (1,032 pins) and Da'Veon Welch in 160th (1,002 pins).

This concludes the men's season, a year in which they improved two spots in the Crossroads League seasons, bumping up to fifth after being in seventh last year. Brendan Riley led the team in total pins (9,917), games played (50), game average (198.3 pins), and highest individual game score this season (279).

The women were led by Abigail Kenestrick, who finished 98th of 152 bowlers. Her first game score of 207 was her highest and she finished with a total of 1,049 pins. Guliana Castiglione wasn't far behind in 100th (1,042 pins) and was then followed by Lexie Strong in 117th (1,000 pins), Bailey Friars in 121st (990 pins), Rebekah Muzyk in 128th (972 pins), Kami Kimes in 142nd (943 pins), Samantha Bean in 143rd (936 pins) and Kaylee McNab in 147th (890 pins).

The Goshen women play 32 baker games on both Saturday and Sunday in the team sectional.
