Goshen closes regular season at Taylor, set for CL tournament on Tuesday

Barrows allowed one run in six innings pitched in game one

UPLAND, Ind. - The Goshen softball team lost their final two regular season games at Taylor on Saturday, falling 1-0 in game one and 9-0 in the second game after defeating the Trojans twice at home earlier this season. The Maple Leafs will be the eight seed in the Crossroads League tournament and will play the five seed, Spring Arbor, at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, April 28. The game will be played at the University of Saint Francis.

Game One
Camryn Barrows had the start for the Leafs in game one - her first pitching appearance in a week. Barrows went all six innings, allowing just one run on six hits. She had four strikeouts and one walk with 99 total pitches thrown.

Unfortunately, Taylor's one run - an RBI single from Delaney Barton in the fourth inning - was the only run that was needed for the Trojans. The Leafs were held to just one hit from Claire Cullen, who got the win after 6.1 innings pitched. Katie Kottlowski didn't allow any hits and earned the save. Goshen's lone hit was a single from Tatem Adams.

Game Two
The Trojans scored in each of the four innings they hit in during their run rule win in game two. Six of the nine runs came in the second inning, where they had six hits and Goshen had an error. The Leafs managed three hits in this game, all singles, from Bianca Diamond, Sydney Lockhart and Serenidy Mitchem. Diamond and Molly Klein both had a walk.

Esme Pico had the loss. She allowed seven earned runs and nine total in four innings pitched.

Goshen has lost six straight against Spring Arbor, their first opponent in the league tournament, but three of those losses were by one run. Goshen had two wins against Spring Arbor in 2025. The winner will advance to play on Wednesday while the loser will be out of the tournament and see their season come to an end.
