Michael Walker began his first season as an assistant coach for the Maple Leafs baseball team in 2022. A native of Archbold, Ohio, Walker played baseball at Goshen College as a pitcher from 2013-2017. During his senior season, he was named All-Crossroads League Honorable Mention. Walker is the program leader in fewest walks per nine innings in his career - he averaged 2.26, including just 1.34 during the 2016 season and 1.62 in 2015. He also has thrown the seventh-most strikeouts in program history (162) and has the fourth-most innings pitched (243.1). Over the last four years, Walker had been a teacher, assistant varsity baseball coach, and assistant varsity girls basketball coach at Tinora High School in Ohio.
Walker majored in English and Secondary Education while at Goshen and is currently a high school English teacher at Bethany Christian Schools.
