Biography

AT GOSHEN:
2013: After being exclusively a pitcher in 2012, debuted as an outfielder... made 28 starts and appeared in a total of 42 games... had 12 hits, scored nine runs, and knicked in seven... first career hit was a two-run double against Holy Cross on 3/4... had three multi-hit games, including a 3-for-4 effort against Saint Francis on 3/30... on the mound, made seven starts and appeared in nine contests... fired 38 2/3 innings, striking out 14.
2012: Pitched in nine games, making five starts… finished the year with 33 2/3 innings pitched and a 1-3 record…  in collegiate debut, three two innings of two-hit ball (three strikeouts) against Pikeville (2/18) earning save… Earned first collegiate victory against Lourdes on 3/17… went all seven innings, allowing just five hits and one unearned run in 12-1 victory… strongest start in league play was a 5 1/3 inning outing against Mount Vernon… gave up just three hits and one unearned run in a game the Maple Leafs eventually won 7-6 (4/12).
2011: Red-shirted the 2011 season with an arm injury.

HIGH SCHOOL:
Played for coach John Huemmer at Mishawaka High School... was on the honor roll.

PERSONAL:
Parents are Scott and Misty Austin... admires Jim Abbot because "played professional sport with one hand"... chose Goshen because "it is close to home and seemed liked a great place"... little known fact is "I have arachnophobia."
