AT GOSHEN:
2013: Made seven starts and appeared in 10 contests as a sophomore... struck out 26 batters in 31 1/3 innings of work... longest outing of the season was 6 2/3 innings against Grace on 4/6... did not allow a hit until the sixth inning of that contest, eventually getting a no decision in a Goshen win.
2012: As a freshman, led the Maple Leaf pitching staff with 10 starts… finished the year with a 4-5 record and with three complete games… logged a total of 55 1/3 innings, compiling a team-best 4.72 earned run average with a team-high 41 strike outs… In first career game, earned the win with 4 1/3 innings of work, allowing just one run in a 5-4 victory over Pikeville (2/18)… didn't get the win, but fired four innings of four hit ball in a 7-6 Goshen win over Concordia on 3/10… first complete-game victory came against Indiana Wesleyan on 3/31 where he allowed just one earned on seven hits during a 4-3 victory… also three complete-game victories against Grace on 4/5 and Huntington on 4/19… had a 3-3 record and 4.28 ERA in seven league contests.

HIGH SCHOOL:

Played for Coach AJ Gaideski at Edwardsburg High School… was named First Team All Conference and All District… named Academic All Conference… also participated in basketball.

PERSONAL:

Parents are Andy and Anna Thompson… chose Goshen because "It has a great reputation for academics, plus I have the ability to keep playing baseball"… admires his parents because of their hard word… little known fact is "full name is Zachariah."
