Goshen College

Ezra Kipruto passed away on Oct. 22, 2022. We extend our thoughts and prayers to his family and friends in loving memory of the vibrant, joyful, and thriving community he helped create in the Maple Leafs cross country program.

PERSONAL:
Born on June 20 … parents are William and Rose Cherono … transferred from Liberty University where he competed for one season … chose Goshen because “my childhood friend went here and while I was making the decision where to go, he assured me that I couldn’t make a better choice than coming to Goshen. He spoke so fondly of the community around campus, and he knew that was what I was looking for as part of my college experience” … most admires his grandmother because “she is a resilient and God-loving woman. I’ve always looked up to her with a lot of admiration for how she lives life with so much gratitude every day!” … little-known personal fact is “I always want to be better” … best athletic moment was his first collegiate race – “I didn’t win, but I learned how not to race!”
