Biography

AT GOSHEN:
2011: Finished in Goshen's top two in every one of their eight events as a freshman... was in the top 10 overall in six of eight meets, including winning the individual title at the Manchester College Invitational in 26:18... ran a pair of sub-five minute mile splits, including a 4:49 final mile at the MCC Championships where he ran to seventh place... his time of 25:37 was the quickest freshman time in program history and fourth fastest overall... earned All MCC and qualified for the NAIA National Championships in Vancouver, Wash... also qualified for the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the marathon.

HIGH SCHOOL:
Competed for Coach Rustin Nyce at Fairfield High School… named team MVP… received Mental Attitude Award… was a scholar-athlete… also played basketball.

PERSONAL:
Born on January 11… parents are Skip and Shelley Smeltzer … chose Goshen because "the athletic opportunity"… admires high school coaches… little known fact is "I ran a marathon."
