Box Score LIMA, Ohio — Demarkus Stuckey led all scorers with 30 points Friday night in Goshen College's 82-70 win over the University of Northwestern Ohio in non-conference men's basketball action.
Alhassan Barrie posted his second straight 10-point game for the Maple Leafs while Carter Boos added 12 points and Tanner Camp 6 for a pair of season highs.
Goshen (3-11) led for almost 90 percent of the contest, trailing twice for a total of 64 seconds. The Maple Leafs led by as many as 17 in the second half after taking a 44-31 halftime lead behind a 17-2 run.
Stuckey drained 11 of his 21 field-goal tries, added 4 3-pointers on 10 attempts and went 4-of-5 from the foul line. He led all players in all three flavors of both makes and attempts, although Boos joined him with four successful triples, and racked up a game-high 8 assists as well.
Barrie finished 4-for-6 from the floor while Boos was 4-for-7, with all of the latter's attempts coming from long range. Colton Noel chipped in 6 points on 3-of-6 shooting; Camp and Patryck Ostrowski combined to go 3-for-3 off the bench.
GC shot 53.1 percent (17-for-32) from the floor before halftime, holding UNOH to 44.4 percent (12-for-27), and finished one make above 50 percent at 29-for-57.
Eli Gingerich added 5 assists for the Maple Leafs, who had helpers on 18 of their 29 field goals and a 20-14 edge in points off turnovers.
Each team finished with 29 rebounds: Barrie and Austin Branagan led the Maple Leafs with 6 apiece. Willis Mackey Jr. led all players with 8 apiece for the Racers (4-12). Goshen limited UNOH to one live-ball offensive rebound.
Nathan Lessing scored 18 points, Mackey 14 and Zach Montes 12 for the hosts.
Following a six-day holiday layoff, Goshen will return to Gunden Gymnasium for its final two games of 2018, hosting Central State University at 7 p.m. next Friday and Holy Cross College at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 30.
