Box Score UPLAND, Ind. — Mariah Roe set a career high with 8 rebounds and Graysen Cockerham scored 15 points for Goshen College on Saturday as the Maple Leaf women's basketball team closed its December conference slate with a 75-48 loss to Taylor University in Odle Arena.
Kendall Bradbury connected for 24 points for the Trojans (11-4, 3-2 Crossroads League), who checked in at 10th place in the most recent NAIA Division II women's basketball coaches poll. Becca Buchs added 21 points and a game-high 9 rebounds.
The Maple Leafs (6-7, 0-5) outrebounded their hosts 22-16 in the first half, outscoring Taylor 20-14 in the second quarter to trail 34-33 at halftime. Goshen shot 40 percent from the floor and 4-of-7 from long range in the stanza, getting 8 points from Roe to spark a 17-7 run.
TU hit on 85 percent of its foul shots in the second half, making 17 of its 20 tries to go along with 10 field goals and four 3-pointers. Abby Buchs finished with 15 points and a game-high 4 steals while Aubrey Wright scored 12 to go with 6 assists.
The Maple Leafs outrebounded Taylor 41-34; in addition to Roe, TaNiece Chapman recorded 6 rebounds and Cockerham contributed 5 while all five starters recorded at least 4. Bradbury had 8 caroms and Wright 6 for the hosts, but the other nine players combined for 14.
Goshen also finished 7-of-8 at the foul line and held a 15-3 edge in bench points.
