#8 Taylor spoils Goshen's home finale

GOSHEN, Ind. — The Goshen College women's basketball team wrapped up the home portion of its 2018-19 schedule with an 89-64 loss to eighth-ranked Taylor University on Wednesday in Gunden Gymnasium.

Kendall Bradbury led all scorers with 40 points for Taylor, which moved one step closer to the Crossroads League regular-season title with the win. The Trojans (24-4, 15-2) shot 46 percent from the floor (31-for-68), connected on 14 3-pointers, and led 54-33 at halftime.

Bradbury finished with a 15-for-23 mark from the floor and was 6-of-11 from long range.

Sydney Stein scored 13 points for Goshen, coming within a point of her season high in her final collegiate game in the facility. Classmate Haley Archibeque led the team with 7 rebounds and 4 assists while adding 8 points, and Goshen's third senior, Caitlyn O'Neal, sank three triples for 9 points.

A pair of Maple Leaf underclassmen finished in double figures: TaNiece Chapman scored 12 points and Keyaira Murff added 10.

The Trojans also got 13 points from Aubrey Wright, who led all players with 9 assists, and 12 apiece from twin sisters Abby and Becca Buchs. Bradbury also led all players with 8 rebounds.

Goshen (8-21, 1-16) shot 50 percent from the floor in the first half and outscored Taylor 18-12 in the third stanza, but the visitors added 17 points in the first six minutes of the final period to dash any hope of a comeback.

The Maple Leafs wrap up the regular season Saturday at Spring Arbor University, which is locked into the eighth and final spot in the conference tournament. Goshen can still catch Bethel College with a win and a Bethel loss at Huntington.

Tip-off at SAU's McDonald Athletic Center is set for 1 p.m.
