Box Score GOSHEN, Ind. — Tahj Curry scored 15 points and Austin Branagan had 14 in Goshen College's 95-67 loss to NAIA Division II no. 2 Indiana Wesleyan University on Tuesday night in Gunden Gymnasium.
Curry was a perfect 7-of-7 from the floor and Grant Monix led the Maple Leafs (4-13, 0-5 Crossroads League) with 7 rebounds in his first career start. Ben Cotton contributed 8 points and Colin Flowers added 7.
Kyle Mangas led Indiana Wesleyan (14-3, 4-1) with 22 points and Seth Maxwell had a double-double with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Maxwell shot 7-of-10 from the floor to pace a Wildcat attack that finished the night shooting 53 percent (35-of-66).
The Maple Leafs started the game hot, taking a 10-2 lead behind triples from Branagan and Monix. Goshen led by as many as 8 and as late as 23-21. After a 26-all tie with 5:43 left in the first half, it was45-36 at halftime.
Indiana Wesleyan shot 19-of-29 in the second half to extend its lead. Fourteen of Maxwell's points came after the intermission after Branagan was the first player on either side to reach double figures.
Every available player on each side saw at least 70 seconds of action: every Maple Leaf had a point, a rebound or a foul, including scores by Kedrick Bibby and Phillip Hughes.
The Wildcats scored with 11 of a possible 13 plauers. Tanner Rubio added 14 points to finish in double figures. Indiana Wesleyan accumulated 20 assists and 15 steals.
Sheddrick Porter Jr. led Goshen with 3 assists.
Goshen is back in action on Saturday in a doubleheader at Marian University in Indianapolis. The men will tip off at approximately 3 p.m. after the women's game at 1.
