UPLAND, Ind. – MaKiah McCain and
Victoria Naylor combined for seven saves in the Goshen goal, but Taylor defeated the women's soccer team 3-0 on Senior Day in Upland.
Taylor was playing with retaliation on their minds after recent losses this month to Indiana Wesleyan and Spring Arbor – both ranked in the top ten. Erin Teevans scored twice for the Trojans in the first half. Her first one came in the 26
th minute from a pass by Linli Tu. Her eighth goal of the year came right before halftime and gave Taylor a 2-0 halftime lead. Five minutes into the second half, Sophie Snyder scored to make it 3-0 – Riley Massey was credited with the assist. Goshen didn't allow any more for the remaining forty minutes, but Taylor left with a 3-0 victory.
MaKiah McCain had four saves and allowed two goals in her half as the goalkeeper.
Victoria Naylor came in for the second half and allowed one goal with three saves.
Seja Lang had the lone shot on goal for the Leafs. She had two total shots, as well as
Brynja Rut Hjartardottir.
Beatriz Meneghin and
Anne Nisley both had a shot each.
Taylor started the season 7-0 and now sits at a 9-4 record. The win improved their home record to 7-1.
