FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The Mastodons of Purdue Fort Wayne beat the Goshen women's basketball team 90-45 in an exhibition game at the Gates Sports Center on Monday night.
Goshen had a 9-7 lead early as
Sa'drea Rougeau hit a three from a pass by Kiana Oelling. The Mastodons particularly created separation in the second and third quarters - outscoring the Maple Leafs 44-11 in that span.
Goshen was 3-7 from behind the arc (43%) while Purdue Fort Wayne was 12-36 (33%). Goshen was only outrebounded by three, but 27 turnovers led to the point differential. The Mastodons had just seven turnovers.
Rougeau led Goshen with nine points and three rebounds. Zoe Zellers scored eight points and brought down six rebounds off the bench. Syanne Mohamed had seven points and four rebounds. Zion Neat had six points and seven rebounds.
Goshen is 6-5 all time against PFW. GC won six of the seven matchups between 1977 and 1982. The Maple Leafs are at Judson on Saturday, November 12 for a game at 6:00 pm ET.
