UNIVERSITY PARK, Ill. - A 28-2 run in the first two quarters shifted momentum quickly in favor of Governors State, as the Jaguars beat the Goshen women's basketball team 80-46 on Friday afternoon.

Zoe Zellers gave the Maple Leafs an early 4-0 advantage, but the score was 24-6 Jaguars by the end of the first quarter. Governors State outscored Goshen by just one in the second quarter, but doubled up 22-11 in the third. The home team held Goshen to a season-low 46 points and .273 shooting percentage.
Goshen had just 14 turnovers - three fewer than the Jaguars.
Sa'drea Rougeau led the offense with 11 points. First-year
Lillian Null led the team with five rebounds in just 15 minutes off the bench. She had five points, two assists, a steal, and hit a three-pointer. Neat and Zellers each scored seven points, and
Syanne Mohamed and
Emme Boots had five apiece.
Governors State had four players in double figures - Angelique Cowan, Tabetha Jones, Lotte Miller, and Aaliyah Hull.
Now at 6-9 this season, the Leafs just have conference matchups remaining in the regular season. Goshen hosts Taylor in Ruth Gunden Gymnasium on Wednesday, January 4. That game is set to start at 7:00 pm.
