GOSHEN, Ind. — Seja Lang, a sophomore on the women's soccer team, has been named the Everence Student-Athlete of the Week for August 29 - September 5!
Lang scored both of Goshen's goals in a 2-0 shutout over Point Park on Saturday. All four of her shots were on goal, and she tied career highs for goals and shots on goal in a game. She scored her third goal since Saturday in the 15th minute of Goshen's 6-0 win over West Virginia Tech on Monday. Six different Maple Leafs scored during the win - the most Goshen players that have scored in a single game since 2012.
56% of Lang's shots this year have been on goal, and 60% of her shots on goal have found the back of the net. Two of her goals have been the game-winners in the shutouts over Point Park and WVU Tech.
The Maple Leafs are 3-2 and have outscored their opponents 12-5. Goshen plays at Madonna on Saturday, September 10, at 5:00 pm.
The Everence Student-Athlete of the Week award recognizes outstanding performances by Goshen College student-athletes and is selected each week by the GC sports information office. It is sponsored by Everence, a faith-based financial services organization headquartered in Goshen.
